Pets are always very expensive for their owners. The owners are sometimes willing to spend a huge amount of money to provide them with everything necessary. But how much money are people willing to pay for an animal that has not yet become loved (at the initial purchase)?

Lyon Bichon

Lyon Bichon, or the Lion Dog, is the most expensive and at the same time the rarest breed of dog. It was bred in France. By 1960, the number of dogs of this breed was significantly reduced. The breed was even listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the rarest dog breed in the world. Lyon bishop costs from 4000 to 8000 US dollars.

Royal Python

Snakes are the most popular exotic animals in the world, but pleasure is not cheap. So, to purchase a royal python (Python regius), you will have to pay about $ 10,000. Pythons are not aggressive snakes, but they grow large (up to 5-6 m), so their maintenance requires considerable costs and, of course, compliance with safety rules, because a large hungry python can swallow a dog and even a small child.

Hyacinth Macaw

Hyacinth Macaw (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus) is the largest parrot in the world. The length of his body reaches one meter, tail – 50-60 cm, and wings – 35-40 cm. There are very few hyacinth macaws in the wild. It is estimated that about 10 thousand birds were caught for sale from the natural environment. It is not surprising that the price for one such bird reaches $ 12,000.

Palm cockatoo

Palm Cockatoo (Probosciger aterrimus) is another expensive parrot. It lives in Australia and New Guinea, from where it is caught for private collections. Keeping this bird is very difficult: it has a very powerful beak, which easily snacks rods up to 5 mm thick, and is also difficult to feed because of the extreme selectivity of the bird. Nevertheless, there are a lot of people who want to pay about $ 16,000 for this cute bird.

Asher cat

Asher is a cross between an African serval and a Bengal dwarf cat. She is considered one of the most popular cats with “wild” roots, which are kept at home, as well as one of the most expensive, because to get yourself this little kitten that will grow up in a graceful and tall cat (up to 1 m), you need to pay about 25,000 dollars.

Common chimpanzees

Chimpanzee is a humanoid monkey, the genetic base of which coincides with the human base by 98.7%. This fact, as well as the great intellectual abilities of these monkeys, attract a considerable number of people who want to buy this animal. But not everyone can afford such a pet, because it costs at least $ 60,000.

Stag beetle

Unexpectedly, but a fact, on the seventh line of the ranking of the most expensive animals in the world is the stag beetle (Lucanus cervus). The name of this species of stag beetles was given by peculiar outgrowths (mandibles) resembling deer horns. Typically, deer beetles reach a length of 4-6 cm, rarely 7, but a beetle 7.5 cm long was put up at one of the zoo auctions. This item was sold for $ 89,000 to a Japanese breeder.

Aravana

Some fish purchased for maintenance in decorative aquariums are very, very expensive, for example, dragon fish, or aravana (Osteoglossum bicirrhosum) costs about $ 80,000. However, this is far from the limit. The same 37 centimeter fish, but unusual for this type of white color (Platinum arowana) will cost 5 times more expensive – $ 400,000.

Black and white Holstein cow

One of the most expensive animals, the price for which has exceeded one million dollars, is not at all exotic – it’s a cow. A cow named Missy of the Holstein breed in black and white in the recent 2009 won the Western Fall National Show. The championship title allowed the owner of Missy to gain $ 1,200,000 from her sale, making her the most expensive cow in history.

Purebred English

Arab sheikhs always appreciated purebred riding horses, often buying them for very big money. But the purchase of a 3-year-old purebred English stallion, the winner of two competitions (horse racing King George VII and the Irish Derby) Sharif Dancer became a sensation. Al Maktoum Sheikh Hamdan in 1983 acquired it for $ 40 million. Sharif Dancer, the son of Norsern Dancer (father) and Sweet Alliance (mother), became the most expensive horse in history and the biggest disappointment for the owners, since after 1983 he did not win a single major competition.
