Microsoft will release a special version of the Xbox One X, dedicated to the game Cyberpunk 2077

Microsoft has officially unveiled a special version of its Xbox One X game console dedicated to the Cyberpunk 2077 game from the Polish CD Projekt RED studio: the console itself and all the accessories included in the package are made in the style of this upcoming game.

The launch of the limited edition Xbox One X Cyberpunk 2077 Limited Edition is expected in June this year. It is worth noting that the game itself Cyberpunk 2077 will be released only after three months – in September.

The limited edition will glow in the dark.

Microsoft introduced a teaser of the Xbox One X game console with a design in the style of the popular game Cyberpunk 2077 on April 16th. Then company representatives invited the players to return in four days. Obviously, for familiarization with the details and a full trailer.

But fans were able to prematurely unravel the cipher that Microsoft and CDPR compiled on social networks, so they soon published a video with the announcement of the Xbox One X with a design in the style of Cyberpunk 2077.

Design changes affected not only the console, which will now glow in the dark, but also the classic Xbox gamepad. According to the cover, we can conclude that the Cyberpunk 2077 game itself will be bundled with a limited console and gamepad.

In this case, the release of the game is scheduled for September 17, 2020, and the console is expected in June 2020. Probably, in the kit instead of the disk version, there may be a key to download the game after release.

Details about Cyberpunk 2077: about 75 mini-quests, amazing lighting and no plans for VR

In total, in the game you can find about 75 street stories. Recall that Street Stories are mini-quests with a plot, but without lengthy screensavers. Read more about these and other types of instructions here.

CD Projekt RED considered the idea of adapting the Cyberpunk 2077 for VR helmets – according to Mamais, some things would work well in virtual reality. However, the company decided not to engage in this area. The reason is simple: VR is an “experimental and niche” format, you won’t make a lot of money with it.

Answering a question about the features of Cyberpunk 2077, which have not yet been presented in detail, Mamais mentioned two technologies:

  • Real-time global lighting system. When the public sees her work in all its glory, the picture will be breathtaking, the developer assured.
  • Realistic sound. The speaker system from CDPR takes into account the geometry of the level and reproduces the effect of reverb. Mamais believes that CP2077 audio is worth buying speakers with Dolby Atmos technology.
